If you've already levelled up your roleplaying games (RPGs) by using Foundry Virtual Tabletop, you can now link your Game Worlds directly to your Patreon account using the Moulinette modules. In this blog, we'll show you how you can set up DnD battlemaps and fantasy maps in Moulinette to run on Foundry VTT.
Moulinette lets you access all the content and additional features available from your Patreon subscriptions directly through Foundry VTT. It's a great tool that allows you to quickly build maps and scenes (even on the fly) with full access to your favourite Patreon-created maps and tiles.
Step 1: Choose Your Maps
Finding maps can be challenging at the best of times. Looking for scenes that capture the tone and imagination of your ideas isn't easy. Luckily, Czepeku has an archive of 1,000s of beautifully designed and totally original fantasy maps with loads of variations like weather, time of day, seasons, and much more!
Join here now and you can get full access to the entire archive and every new Czepeku creation for as little as $5 per month. You can also vote for map ideas you want Czepeku to explore and create! Not only that, but when you connect your Czepeku subscription to Moulinette, you'll have everything at your fingertips!
Step 2: Download and Install Moulinette Modules on Foundry VTT
- The first thing you'll need to do is make sure that you've installed and enabled the modules on Foundry VTT. This is free and super easy. From the 'Configuration and Set-Up' page on Foundry VTT, head into the 'Add-on Modules' section.
- Click on 'Install Module' and search for 'Moulinette'. You'll see different options. For this, you'll need to install Moulinette Core, Moulinette Scenes, and Moulinette Tiles.
- Once they've been installed, head into your Game World and enable the three modules from the 'Manage Modules' section of the 'Game Settings' toolbar. Check the boxes and hit 'Save Module Settings'; this will enable the modules in your Game World.
Step 3: Link to Your Czepeku Patreon Subscription
- With your Game World open on Foundry VTT, click on the 'Moulinette' hammer icon on the left-hand side toolbar. From the dropdown sub-control buttons, select 'Scenes' (the trifold map icon).
- You may get a message here that lets you know that Moulinette isn't connected to Patreon. Click on the 'Authenticate' link, then hit the 'Authenticate on Patreon' button. A new tab or window will open in your browser.
- Sign in and accept the required authorisations, then head back to Foundry VTT.
Step 3: Upload Your Map
- Select 'Czepeku Scenes' from the 'All Creators' dropdown menu at the top of the Moulinette window.
- From here, you can browse or search for your favourite Czepeku map.
- Select the map, then click the 'Import Scene' button to download it. The map is then ready to be used.
- You can find your scene by navigating to 'Moulinette/ Cze and Peku' folder.
